Happy Easter

Have a lovely Easter weekend my friends and I hope it is filled with lots of happiness and joy amongst your loved ones. Here is a pretty image  which just makes me happy looking at it. The weather is far from Spring like but at least we can embrace the season into our homes...

Etsy Favourites

Morning lovelies, It's rather miserable outside so I hope these little items will cheer you up. Here are this week's favourite finds from Etsy... Enjoy!

How cool is this home of interior stylist Linda Åhman?! Elements of industrial chic mixed in with a few vintage pieces. I absolutely adore this space and the monochromatic shades of grey with pops of turquoise are so blissful. I love a home that has a real sense of style and personality and this just really has it all. Totally feeling inspired today...

Emma Cassi's Pretty Home

Having always been a fan of her work I was really excited to meet the lovely Emma Cassi while shooting for Heart Home magazine. Emma is as delicate and feminine as her jewellery but with a very determined and focused mind. Her home was a charming abode which purely reflected her style; every corner was filled with tiny details. After spending the day with her, I was in awe of her creativity...

Blog Crush: Weekday Carnival

I've just recently discovered this gorgeous and inspiring blog Weekday Carnival, ok I know where have I been?  Full of diy, decorating ideas and much more, Riikka Kantinkoski is the talented woman behind the blog. She is a Finnish photographer, stylist and product designer. I'm in awe of her simplicity but fabulous style. You can see many images of her home on the blog and wow I would love to visit it one day... A haven of inspiration. These images are perfect for a friday, actually for everyday... Happy Friday people!

Clever diy geometric painting on the wall. Subtle colours that are utterly divine and work so well in this space.

Again this colour palette has me dreaming...

Ahhhhh I just love this shot of her bedroom. So simple but effective and that lamp is beautiful.

Etsy Favourites

Another day, another week and more favourite finds from one of my favourite websites. Here are some of my favourite Etsy pieces that caught my eye this week...

Black & White Stripes

I've always loved wearing stripes, so am happy to see this trend is still going strong. I wouldn't say I use this colour scheme that much for my personal interior space but I do like the occasional accessory whether it's a cushion or a rug. However it is a combination that I do adore. Here are a few of my favourite picks...

1.T.shirt, Topshop; 2.Retro Sunglasses, Nordstrom; 3.Black & White Shoes, Zara; 4.Stripe Necklace, Kate Spade; 5.Rock Flag Print, BODIE and FOU; 6.Stripe Cushion, H&M; 7.Puppy Upper, Jonathan Adler; 8.Rug, Scandi Living.

Living Room Concept Ideas

As many of you know I am working on my new home and rather excited that it is slowly coming together. Today I thought I would share with you the concept behind the living room. We have original terracotta flooring and high vault ceilings so I feel it is important to keep certain elements quite classical. However I love to mix in some contemporary pieces keeping it quite cool and industrial at the same time. So far we have ordered that exact sofa featured on the moodboard and those white unit shelves. We restored the fireplace and covered it in bricks - the exact one is also shown below. Still many bits and bobs to buy but I am longing for a trunk to act as a coffee table and dreaming of a similar rug to the Jonathan Adler for the Rug Company - it's divine but not within my budget. I currently have two Kartell Bourgie lamps that were given to me as a wedding present - thought it would be nice to incorporate them over a rustic console table... Anyway it's still a work in progress and as many of you know sometimes we move away from our initial concept plans as more ideas evolve - I guess that's the beauty of design.

Victor Sofa, Flexform; Tripos floor lamp, Pottery Barn; Trunk by Darlings of Chelsea; Actual Fireplace; Rug by Jonathan Adler for The Rug Company; Kartell Bourgie Lamp, John Lewis; Rustic solid oak console table, Home Barn; Shelving unit 'Giorno Jazz', Doimo Design.

Lou Rota's Home

One of my favourite homes from the Spring issue of Heart Home magazine belongs to designer Lou RotaHer ceramic designs are influenced by her passion for the natural world, especially insects, 'I love playing with unusual combinations of flora and fauna'.

Lou describes herself more of a graphic artist who happens to use ceramics. Her previous day job was producing science and natural history programmes for television - which explains rather a lot ;)

Being a fan of her work I cannot say I was surprised by how pretty her home was. I felt her products really translated into the style of her house. Beautiful, quirky & fun with plenty of up cycled furniture, interesting accessories and an abundance of colour. Warm and friendly you felt immediately at ease with Lou which was an absolute treat spending the day at her home.
